As part of the investment program of Rosseti Kuban, specialists from Sochi electric network are laying a new 6 kV cable power transmission line, about three kilometres long, along Constitution of the USSR, Neserbskaya and Poyarko streets.

The new cable power transmission line will provide high-quality and uninterrupted power supply to about six thousand consumers in the Central district of Sochi, including a number of socially important facilities. These include Gymnasium No. 8, the Seaport, Children's Sports School No. 10, and the International Innovation University.

Shortly before, the Head of Sochi Alexei Kopaigorodsky familiarised himself with the construction progress, noting the high importance of the work being carried out.

- The new cable power transmission line will provide additional capacity for educational facilities and the health resort complex. The project took into account the peculiarities of the area. This is the city centre - there are many historical and tourist sites, popular walking routes, and busy traffic here. The construction will not disrupt the usual rhythm of life in the resort," Alexey Kopaigorodsky emphasised.

The route is laid by trenchless method using a special horizontal directional drilling rig. In this way, power engineers preserve the integrity of the roadbed and prevent damage to utilities laid underground.

Power engineers plan to complete the work before the start of the summer holiday season. Let us recall, in 2024, as part of its investment program, Rosseti Kuban plans to build about 112 km of power transmission lines (PTLs) in the Sochi energy district and install 18 new transformer substations with a total capacity of 21 MVA. In addition, the company will reconstruct more than 27 km of PTLs and 23 transformer stations with a total capacity of more than 14 MVA.
