Highly automated 110 kV substations - Adler, Kudepsta and Pasechnaya - were put into operation after overall reconstruction. The commissioning ceremony was attended by Veniamin Kondratiev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, and Andrey Ryumin, General Director of Rosseti PJSC, as well as Boris Ebzeyev, Acting General Director of Rosseti Kuban PJSC.

These feeding centres are located in Sochi's most densely populated districts - the Central and Adler districts. Electricity supply to the city's residents, resort infrastructure and the V.I. Sevastyanov International Airport, which is one of the largest in Russia, depends on the reliable operation of the substations. Power facilities are also involved in power supply for key events, including the World Youth Festival to be held in early March 2024.

As a result of the reconstruction, the capacity of substations was increased to 210 MVA, which made it possible to remove the current overload of transformers and eliminate the risks of interruptions in power supply to consumers.

All technological processes are maximally automated. These substations can be controlled remotely without permanent presence of personnel. Modern highly reliable equipment was implemented, including Russian-made power transformers. Packaged 110 kV gas-insulated switchgears are installed, which are characterised by high fire safety and low noise level. This is the most effective solution for high-density urban development.

"These are important substations for Sochi, which received 7 million holidaymakers last year only. The feeding centres will ensure reliable power supply to 35,000 residents and 40 social facilities - schools and child day care centers, clinics and hospitals. Modern power facilities are a guarantee of comfort for residents and tourists, new opportunities for further development of the city not only as a resort, but also as a venue for various forums and festivals", - Veniamin Kondratiev said.

"The reconstruction of substations has made it possible to improve the reliability of power supply to the residents of Sochi and significant facilities for the city. We continue our work in the Krasnodar Territory. This year, Rosseti Group will allocate almost RUB 20 billion to finance projects in the region. Sochi remains high on our list of priorities. The focus is also on creating new energy capacities for the development of Krasnodar and the central districts of Kuban," Andrey Ryumin said.
