Rosseti Kuban is modernizing the grid infrastructure in Yuzhny settlement in the suburbs of Krasnodar

Within the framework of modernization of the power grid infrastructure in Yuzhny settlement in the suburbs of Krasnodar, where there is an increase in energy consumption due to active housing development, Rosseti Kuban specialists have built new and reconstructed existing power transmission lines (PTL) and transformer substations.

Housing in Yuzhny settlement, located at the border of Dinsky district and the regional capital, is in great demand. Due to rapid population growth and active housing development in the settlement, there is a significant increase in electric power consumption. At the same time, at this moment the electric power infrastructure is actually the only resource for energy and heat supply to residents of the settlement.

In 2021-2022, power engineers have implemented series of technical measures aimed at improving reliability of power supply to consumers in Yuzhny. Specialists have built more than 5 km of overhead power transmission lines, installed four transformer substations with a total capacity of 2.6 MVA, and completed fragmentation of two PTLs.

The reconstruction of four active 0.4 and 10 kV cable and overhead power lines, which provide the central power distribution station with electricity in the settlement, has been completed: a new wire of greater capacity has been installed, insulation has been modernized, and the security zone of overhead PTLs has been cleared.

As part of maintenance in Yuzhny, three overhead PTLs have been overhauled, and also a new self-supporting insulated wire, which is characterized by increased reliability and safety, has been installed. Forty units of main and auxiliary power equipment have been replaced at two transformer substations.

At the moment, a new packaged transformer substation and an overhead transmission line section are being built in the settlement. These efforts will eliminate shortage of power and ensure quality of power supply towards upcoming residential development.

In 2023-2024, reconstruction and building of six distribution grid facilities and a new central power distribution station as well as laying of 10 kV cable lines from the 220 kV Vitaminkombinat substation are planned in the settlement.

Power engineers note that facts of electric power resource stealing, as well as excess of permitted capacity, resulting in overload in the grid, have been detected in Yuzhny. These events cause electricity supply disruptions towards good faith consumers, pose a threat to people's lives and health. The situation with electricity supply in the suburbs of the regional capital is complicated by the presence of small owners of electric grid facilities, many of whom do not ensure normative condition of a power grid infrastructure located in their area of responsibility.
