The power engineers of the South-Western Branch of Rosseti Kuban completed most of the activities planned as part of the maintenance and repair program for 2022. 225 million rubles were allocated to prepare power grids for winter and improve the reliability of power facilities in the suburbs of Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Abinsk and Krymsky districts of the Krasnodar Territory.

Specialists carried out a set of measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply to residents during peak loads on the energy system. Repair and maintenance of equipment was carried out at 78 high-voltage substations, 35-110 kV power transmission lines (TL) were repaired: more than 65 km of power lines were repaired, damaged poles were replaced, more than four thousand insulators and about 7 km of lightning protection cable were installed, 528 sets of linear- coupling fittings and 66 sets of bird protection devices.

In parallel with the repair of high-voltage networks, power engineers carried out maintenance of the distribution network: they replaced 26 km of obsolete wire with a wire with a larger cross-sectional diameter. This will improve the quality of the supplied electricity and reduce its technical losses. In addition, more than 350 poles, 269 insulators and 573 branches to households were replaced using self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), 47 complete transformer substations were repaired. SIP guarantees reliable transmission of electricity in any weather and provides maximum protection against electrical shock.

Power engineers paid special attention to clearing the routes of overhead power lines. To prevent power supply disruptions due to falling branches and trees on wires during bad weather, specialists cleared over 63 hectares of power lines.

“The main goal of the repair program is to prepare the power grid complex for operation during the most difficult period of peak loads. The repair plan is formed annually on the basis of diagnostic data on the condition of the equipment and includes facilities whose maintenance significantly affects the increase in the reliability of power supply to consumers,” explains Vladimir Lebedev, Director of the South-Western Branch of Rosseti Kuban.
