Power engineers of Rosseti Kuban restores the key power center of Mariupol

Specialists of Rosseti Kuban have completed work on the restoration of the destroyed 110 kV Ilyich substation in the suburbs of Mariupol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The substation is a transit one along the 110 kV network and provides power supply to one of the largest industrial enterprises of the Azov region and the DPR - the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

Power engineers quickly restored the damaged equipment: they repaired two 110 kV power transformers with a total capacity of 65 MVA, replaced 28 tons of transformer oil, destroyed radiators, 39 support insulators, five 110 kV SF6 circuit breakers and other elements.

Also, the company's specialists completed the adjustment of relay protection and automation, carried out the necessary tests before putting the substation into operation. A new battery was installed at the facility, more than 900 m of busbars (bus duct) were installed, which were stolen from the territory of the power center.

The roof of the closed switchgear and the glazing of the general substation control room were also restored.

Earlier, the power engineers of Rosseti Kuban completed repair work on the 110 kV overhead power line Zarya-Ilyich No. 1 in Mariupol. Thanks to the commissioning of this power line, voltage was supplied to the Gorod 3 substation, from which the Kalmiussky district, the largest in the city, is supplied with electricity.

The ongoing activities will allow to restore the social and industrial infrastructure of Mariupol, provide residents with jobs.
