The power engineers of the Sochi branch of the Rosseti Kuban company built a network infrastructure for connecting electricity to a new school on Landyshevaya St. in the Central district of the city of Sochi. For eight buildings of an educational institution for 800 places, a connection point with a capacity of 487 kW was prepared for the first and second categories of reliability, which provides for backup power supply in case of emergency.

The educational institution is being built within the framework of the national project "Education". The future school has eight buildings, a stadium with outdoor exercise equipment and a basketball court. The first students of the school will start studying in September 2022.

For the power supply of the educational institution, power engineers built a complete transformer substation with two transformers of 630 kVA each, and also laid two 10 kV cable lines with a total length of more than 600 meters. In addition, 16 poles were installed, more than 600 meters of self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) of the overhead power line were stretched. SIW has an increased bandwidth, high wear resistance and ensures the power supply reliability under adverse weather conditions and wind loads.

“Construction of a new school on Landyshevaya St. in the Central District of Sochi is a long-awaited event for local residents. The Rosseti Kuban company promptly joined the tasks set by the head of the city and took all the necessary measures to provide the facility with a reliable power supply as soon as possible. For the technological connection of the new school, the power engineers prepared 487 kW of power”, Edgar Armaganyan, First Deputy General Director - Director of the Sochi branch of Rosseti Kuban said.

He also highlighted that active work continues to connect other socially significant facilities of the Sochi energy district to electricity. Over the past three years, Rosseti Kuban specialists have provided six new educational institutions with electricity: four schools and two kindergartens. The technical connection of three offices of general practitioners and eight pumping stations was also completed. The total capacity of technological connection exceeded 2.2 MW.
