In Krasnodar started Rosseti Group championship of vocational skills “Young Professionals” according to the WorldSkills occupational standards

The opening ceremony of Rosseti Group corporate championship of vocational skills “Young Professionals” according to the WorldSkills occupational standards took place in Krasnodar. On the basis of the Corporate Power Engineering Institute of Rosseti Kuban, ten teams from all parts of the Russian Federation will be competing within the competences “Maintenance of cable lines” and “Intellectual energy accounting system” for a week.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Technical Issues – Chief Engineer of Rosseti Kuban Aleksey Mishanin welcomed the participants.

“Rosseti Kuban hosted the championship of such level for the second time. This is a large scale and significant event for our Company. These competitions play a key role in the development of Russian power engineering and motivate young people to achieve professional success. It is important that this championship will facilitate the development of cross-industry working professions and, in particular, the energy workers”, Aleksey Mishanin emphasized.

The Head of Department for Information Support and Formation of Energy Efficiency Policy of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing and Public Utilities of Krasnodar region Igor Chemeris, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Implementation of Services Oleg Nishchuk, and other honoured guests and media representatives took part in the opening ceremony.

More than 30 experts - skilled professionals from different regions of Russia will evaluate the skills of energy workers. The winners of the Championship will go to the 8th National Championship for cross-industry working professions in high-tech industries (WorldSkills Hi-Tech), which will be held in Yekaterinburg from October 25 to October 29, 2021. 

As a part of program, the round table will be held regarding the development of the digital educational materials, instruments and services, as well as new methods of online learning will be considered. The exhibition of the electrical equipment manufacturers is planned at the energy testing ground of Power Engineering Institute.

The teams of subsidiary companies of Rosseti Group, including Rosseti South, Rosseti Ural, Rosseti Lenenergo, Rosseti North Caucasus, Rosseti Moscow Region, Rosseti Northwest, Rosseti Yantar, Rosseti Yantar Energosbyt, and the Electric Grid Company (in the Republic of Tatarstan) and branch of the National Research University of MPEI in Volzhskiy took part in the Championship.

The open corporate championships of vocational skills according to the WorldSkills occupational standards are focused on young specialists in the energy industry and aimed to increase the prestige of working professions. Rosseti is an associated partner of the Union “Agency for development of the professional associations and working personnel of WorldSkills Russia.
