The Mayor of the city Evgeny Pervyshov and the CEO of Rosseti Kuban Sergey Sergeev examined the site of one of the largest substations of the capital of the region “Pochtovaya”, where the active preparatory woks on modernization of power facility are underway. After the reconstruction of the substation, which provides power supply to the eastern part of the city, its capacity will increase by a third. The amount of investments in this project is about 600 million rubles.

Substation “Pochtovaya” is a key centre of power supply to 70 thousand people, 73 socially significant facilities and a number of large shopping malls of Gidrostroiteley district in Krasnodar.

“Of course, Gidrostroiteley district is a fully developed residential area, where the completion of facilities, that were previously planned, is now underway. But first of all, the stability of power supply to the micro-district should be provided. We have spoken enough about the reconstruction of electrical substation. This issue has been maturing for a long time. And most importantly, the opportunity to perform reconstruction and increase capacity has been found. This would undoubtedly have an impact on reliability”, Evgeny Pervyshov said.

“The large-scale reconstruction of substation 110 kV “Pochtovaya” is expected. It was planned for next year but taking into consideration the social significance of the power facility, works will be carried out this year. The reconstruction schedule has been worked out, the equipment has been ordered, and new more powerful transformers are ready. After modernization, the supply centre capacity will increase by a third and will be equal to 80 megavolt-ampere. This will increase power supply reliability of Gidrostroiteley micro-district and offer opportunities to engage new consumers. The Company plans to invest about 600 million rubles in reconstruction of the substation”, the CEO of Rosseti Kuban Sergey Sergeev emphasized.

The substation was put into operation in 1985. It was modernized and the new powerful transformers were added in 2004. In accordance with the investment programme, the energy workers plan to replace two 10 MVA transformers by more powerful ones - 40 MVA each, install new gas-insulated equipment, and modernize the automatic control system of power facility, teleautomatics and communication this year. It is planned to complete the works in the fourth quarter of 2021.

So that the reconstruction of the supply center does not affect the quality of life and power supply to consumers, two emergency power transformers will be used for power supply to consumers of the micro-district.
