In 2020, the specialists of the South-West office branch of Rosseti Kuban mounted 12 thousand anti-magnetic seals-indicators by sticking them to the energy metering devices in Abinskiy, Krymskiy areas of Krasnodar region as well as Anapa, Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik to reduce theft of energy.

In 2020, the energy workers revealed fourteen facts of unauthorized use of energy by domestic consumers and consumers of industrial sector by using anti-magnetic seals. Work is underway with violators to collect the damage inflicted; law enforcement authorities are involved.

First of all, anti-magnetic seals are mounted by sticking to the energy metering devices of consumers included in the ‘risk’ group. This group includes clients who previously allowed illegal consumption of electricity, as well as facilities with an average monthly level of electric power consumption less than 100 kilowatt-hours.

“Anti-magnetic seal is a tiny sticker which is attached to the count’s hull. While using the magnet and while long-term impact of the magnetic field to the counters, the indicator seal changes the color”, Head of Energy Accounting Service of the office branch Zaurbek Saliev explained. “At present, these anti-magnetic seals are one of the most effective ways to control energy theft. Equipping electricity supply meters with anti-magnetic seals makes it possible to identify, and most importantly, to prove the fact of energy theft.”

The effectiveness analysis of using seals showed a significant increase in the useful electric power output and reduction in the number of thefts by using the magnet. In 2021, the specialists are planning to continue work on mounting of anti-magnetic seals in in the areas of responsibility of the office branch.

Mounting of anti-magnetic seals is carried out by the employees of energy company in strict accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.
