In the first half of 2019, Sochi branch of Rosseti Kuban has invested 192 million rubles in repair and maintenance project. The project has included repair of 330 routes of cable lines and 256km of overhead lines of various voltage.

The aim of the branch is to ensure it continues to provide reliable power supplies in Sochi and Tuapse during resort seasons and also this autumn-winter period. In total, our engineers replaced 370 poles and 2,500 insulators. To prevent power outages caused by trees falling onto power lines, our special teams conducted tree trimming and clearing along electric lines on the area of 500 hectares.

Engineers from Sochi branch have almost completed a year’s plan for repair and maintenance works at all high-voltage substations. In particular, they repaired power transformers at 100kV substations ‘Golovinka’, ‘Kepsha’, ‘Novomikhailovskaya’, and ‘Volkonka’, as well as over a hundred of distribution units across the district. Overhauls were implemented on communication devices, motor transport, and metering devices and systems.

According to the approved plans, Sochi branch of Rosseti Kuban arranged maintenance, thermal imaging control and diagnosis of equipment; currently, the branch is stocking up with emergency equipment and materials, preparing transport for winter and training emergency personnel. This particular investment will boost reliability and sustainability of the power grid in the forthcoming winter peak demand.
