From the beginning of 2019, engineers from the South-Western branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group), have conducted a thermographic inspection on 10 high-voltage power lines totaling 180 km long in Anapa, Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Abinsk and Krymsk regions in order to prepare equipment for the summer peak demand,

These high-voltage lines keep lights on for more than 125 thousand homes, about 200 social facilities and two airports on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar region.

Grigory Chitaya, head of 35kV and higher lines service unit, said: “Thermal imaging survey is a modern type of diagnostics, which allows to detect at an early stage a wire damaged by increased heating at the contact couplings.”

Such thermographic inspections of Kubanenergo equipment make it possible to draw accurate conclusions about the condition of each facility, reduce the amount of repair work, improve safety of electrical equipment and ensure reliable power supply to consumers.
