Social Partner Day has taken place at the College of Technical and Social Sciences in Labinsk to discuss partnership between the college and the town’s businesses. The Labinsk branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group) joined the event to share its experience.

Among the invited guests were representatives of large enterprises, a local employment centre, and specialists from social services. The agenda of the event included cooperation between the college and enterprises of the town, as well as current issues of employment for graduates.

Elena Zaitseva, the Assistant PR Director at Labinsk branch, noted in her speech that there is a long-standing partnership between the company and the college. Since 2008, a liaison agreement has been in force. In 2017, on the basis of the company, 24 students completed internships in “Power stations, networks and systems” course. The branch enrolls the most promising students to the external personnel reserve of the company with the possibility of further employment.

Moreover, last year a student construction brigade started working in the Labinsk branch for the first time. The students from the construction team “Energy of Youth” – sophomores of the Labinsk College of Technical and Social Sciences worked at the company’s facilities for 45 days. The branch concluded an employment contract with each member of the student construction brigade. The students got their first employment records and the first salary. Here is how the internship process goes: before the start of the internship the students attend safety lessons, then the internship starts with a subsequent knowledge test, and only then they get an admission to independent work. The future power engineers were fully equipped with special clothes and personal protective equipment. They proved their practical knowledge and skills at the regional competition of the student construction brigades at Kubanenergo, and took the third place.

Anna Maltseva, the Head of HR Department at the Labinsk branch, said: “It is not a secret that young people are among the most vulnerable groups in the labour market. Employers are reluctant to hire young specialists because of the lack of practical experience.  However, our Company has a different approach. By recruiting young personnel, we give them the opportunity to take up an additional training at the Power Institute of Advanced Training of Kubanenergo in Krasnodar. Our company is interested in attracting young, dynamic, and talented students. So, last year after the end of the labour season of student brigades, the team leader Timofey Konkov was recruited to the substation service as an electrician for repair of switchgear equipment.
