Chief Engineer of Rosseti inspected substation “Yuzhnaya” – a facility providing electricity supply for the venues of the Russian Investment Forum 2019 in Sochi

Andrey Mayorov, Deputy Director General – Chief Engineer of Rosseti PJSC, in the course his working visit to Sochi has carried out an unscheduled inspection of 110/10/ 6kV substation “Yuzhnaya”.  This substation supplies infrastructure facilities of the Russian Investment Forum that will take place this year in Sochi.

Edgar Armaganyan, First Deputy Director General – Director of Sochi electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo PJSС, and Igor Shishigin, Deputy Director General for Technical Issues – Chief Engineer at Kubanenergo PJSC, also joined the inspection.

Chief Engineer of Rosseti checked operation of the substation, and emergency preparedness of dispatch office personnel. He also marked the high quality of operation of the facility, good condition of equipment, and proper external look. No significant irregularities were found.

Substation “Yuzhnaya” was installed in 1960s and since then has been the southernmost one on the territory of Russia (hence the name). ? In 2010 it was fully retrofitted. Equipped with two 40MVA transformers, this substation ensures reliable electricity supply in Adler district of Sochi, including airport, and Port “Imeretinskiy” in Sochi. In the course of preparation for the Olympic Games, the substation “Yuzhnaya” was the main source of energy supply for large-scale Olympic construction.

Earlier in 2018 Pavel Livinsky, Director General of Rosseti PJSC, inspected several major facilities in Sochi: 110kV substations “Vereschaginskaya”, “Bocharov Ruchey”, “Pasechanya”, “Kudepsta”, and “Adler”. At that time, he set a range of propriety activities for development of the city’s infrastructure.
