Specialists from Slavyansk branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group) are installing smart meters in the branch’s responsibility area: Slavyansk, Krasnoarmeisky, and Temryuk districts. In 2018 new smart meters were installed at premises of over 15 thousand customers, among which businesses, organizations, and households.
Modern electricity metering devices apart from enabling energy companies to apply differentiated tariffs depending on the season or time of the day also provide remote control of electricity consumption. All individual devices are integrated into a single network; the quality and amount of electricity consumed is monitored in real time.
Thus, power engineers will be able to promptly react to unexpected power surges, prevent or prove the facts of electricity theft. As for the customers, they do not need to worry about submitting meter readings as now invoices for payment are generated automatically. In addition, smart meters are better protected from short circuits and unauthorized connections.
Timur Glushko, Deputy General Director for Special Projects – Director of Slavyanskiye Electric Networks, said: “In 2018, our employees installed almost a thousand smart metering devices more than in 2017. The most actively smart devices are being installed in Krasnoarmeysky and Temryuk districts (more than 9000 and 5700 consumers connected, respectively). Statistics show that new technologies not only simplify the life of consumers, but also reduce electricity losses due to the efficient management of its consumption.”
