In 2018, the specialists from Southwestern branch of  Kubanenergo PJSC  (Rosseti Group) installed about 25 thousand antimagnetic seals on metering devices in Anapa, Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Abinsk, and Krymsk districts of Krasnodar region. The seals are meant to prevent electricity theft.

In total in 2018 the branch investigated 27 cases of illegal use of electricity by households and businesses. The procedure of recovery of the damage cause is underway; the branch has also enforcement agencies involved.

The principle of the antimagnetic seals is that a small sticker is adhered to the electric meter at the point where the magnetic field can lead to a distortion of the readings. Each seal has an individual number. No physical action can affect its performance. Removal or substitution without visual traces is impossible, in case of violation of the integrity of the seal, the customer will have to pay the fine.

The antimagnetic seals are installed by the employees of the Company in strict compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Be aware that administrative liability for unmetered or unauthorized use of electricity has tightened since 2016. According to the article 7.19 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses, unauthorized connection to networks and unmetered consumption of electric energy are punishable by a fine for individuals from 10 to 15 thousand rubles, and corporate entities from 100 to 200 thousands rubles.
