Since the beginning of this year, specialists from Labinsk branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group) have conducted thermovision inspection of 18 HV substations and 6 overhead power lines in Labinskiy, Kurganinskiy and Mostovskoy districts of Krasnodar region. So far the branch has fulfilled 70& of the annual schedule.
Thermovision inspection of equipment is one of the most important preventive maintenance works that helps power engineers detect equipment flaws at early stages without cutting off power supply. An infrared imaging camera monitors thermal radiation of an object and transfers it into digital signal which then transfers to device and converts that radiation to images from which temperatures can be read.

‘We carry out thermovision of substations and overhead lines inspection annually. Such inspection helps identify equipment malfunction before failure occurs,’ says Vladimir Chernovolov, head of insulation and voltage-surge protection unit. |
By the end of the year, our specialists will have completed thermovision inspections at six power facilities located in responsibility area of the branch.
