Kubanenergo upgraded the largest substation of Novorossiysk

To ensure reliable supply to customers in Novorossiysk, Southwestern power networks, branch of  Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group), have upgraded equipment of 110kV substation “NovoRES”. The project totaled 338 million rubles.

This high-voltage substation keeps lights on for homes, public places and several important businesses – “Novorostsement”, Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, transshipment terminal and Novorossiysk shiprepair yard".

Dmitriy Golovakha, director of Southwestern power networks, said: “We’ve installed dispatch unit, indoor switchgear with vacuum switches and other equipment that will help connect new customers in Novorossiysk.”

The project was performed under the Repair Programme of Kubanenergo 2017.

110kV substation “NovoRES” is the oldest substation of the region; it was commissioned under the GOERLO Plan (the Plan of State Commission for Electrification of Russia) in 1933. During the Great Patriotic War, it was completely demolished and in 1945 the substation was restored and returned to service.
