While on a working visit to Sochi, Pavel Livinsky, Director General of Rosseti, conducted an unscheduled inspection of 110/10/6kV “Vereshchaginskaya” and “Bocharov Ruchey” subsations.

Alexander Gavrilov, Director General of Kubanenergo PJSC, accompanied Pavel Livinsky during the inspection.

The head of Rosseti checked equipment of the substations, in particular indoor switchgear, and examined the technical record keeping.

He also inspected the micro-tunnel of 110 kV aerial cable line sectors “Vereshchaginskaya – Dagomys” and “Vereshchaginskaya – Alpiyskaya”. He marked the good maintenance level of power facilities in Sochi branch of Kubanenergo PJSC.  No serious remarks were made.

110/10/6kV “Vereshchaginskaya”, that has two 25MVA transformers, keeps lights on for the most part of Khosta and Central districts of Sochi, which includes a housing estate “Svetlana”. The substation was upgraded during the preparation to the Winter Olympics 2014. The substation is located in a densely populated district that is why it was decided to move the overhead power lines underground. Cable lines are laid underground in an 800-meter micro-tunnel. On the surface above the cable lines there are over 60 houses, railroad and the River Vereshchaginka.

110/10/6kV “Bocharov Ruchey” substation (total capacity: two transformers of 40MVA) is the first and only indoor substation in the Central district of Sochi. It is considered as one of the most technically advanced and environmentally friendly power facilities. Its power equipment is installed indoors, which gives it an extra protection from weather impact and at the same time protects the environment from noise and electromagnetic pollutions. The substation is powering a housing estate “Mamaika” and the neighbouring streets.
