To reduce above-standard losses in grids and increase quality of supply specialists from the Southwestern electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti Group), are running project on installation of automated meter reading and control system on the branch’s responsibility area.

Since the beginning of 2017 our crews have installed free of charge over 8 thousand smart meters on the territory of Anapa, Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Abinsk and Krymsk districts of the Krasnodar region.

Dmitry Golovakha, head of Southwestern electric networks, said: “These modern devices have many advantages from a technical point of view. The accounting system saves electricity by accounting it depending on the time of day. The new meters can be programmed for multi-tariff accounting and costomers will pay less for the electricity consumed during the night.  Also, the system can prevent fire caused by short-circuiting.”

Power engineers also install new service drop wires. For this they use self-supporting insulated wires. Such wire helps increase the quality and reliability of supply and prevents electrical shock. The meter readings are taken remotely, all the information received is sent through the radio communication channels to the data collection and processing center.
