Kubanenergo took the 1st place at the Russian competition ENES-2017 in nomination “The Best Project on Introduction of AMR system on retail market for household users”.
The award ceremony was held in Moscow in the framework of the International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Development of Power Industry “Russian Energy Week”. One of the most important tasks for Kubanenergo is reduction of electricity losses by means of introduction of new energy-efficient equipment and modern innovative energy-saving technologies.
This project is aimed at creation of a modern automated accounting system for the retail electricity market, which is maximally protected from unauthorized access to accounting information with the purpose of its diversion. This project will allow to increase the volume of services provided, make it possible to switch to a multi-tariff consumption regime, and also to increase the reliability of electricity transmission by round-the-clock monitoring of network parameters.
In some cases, smart meters can prevent a short-circuit causing fire, they are also able to control the “surface-leakage current” in the user’s wiring and turn off the power supply when dangerous indicators are reached, thanks to the remote data transfer function inspectors and supervisors no longer need to visit customers, and the customers will not have to pay the operating costs for the maintenance of metering devices.
The Russian competition of the implemented projects in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency has been held annually since 2013. The event is organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The winners of the competition were determined by open voting on the contest’s website. Earlier, this project had won a regional ENES-2017 competition and the jury recommended the company to participate in the Russian competition.
