To ensure reliable power supply in Novorossiysk and its suburbs, the South-Western electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti group), have started repair of equipment at 110kV substation “NovoRES”. This project will be implemented under the investment programme 2017 and will cost the Company about 338 million rubles.
This high-voltage substation keeps lights on for more than four thousand consumers, 16 social amenities and such large enterprises as Novoroscement, Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, cargo terminal and Novorossiysk Shipyard.
Dmitry Golovakha, Director of South-Western electric networks, said: “During the reconstruction, we plan to build a new dispatch centre and install a new closed switchgear with vacuum switches, as well new equipment that will ensure the possibility of connecting new consumers in Novorossiysk.”
For reference: Substation “NovoRES” is one of the oldest in Kuban region. It was built under the GOELRO (State Commission for Electrification of Russia) plan. On May 1, 1927, in accordance with the plan of electrification of the USSR, engineers laid the foundation of the Novorossiysk district power plant. In April 1930, the first stage of NovorRES was commissioned. To power cement plants “Pobeda Oktyabrya” and “Pervomaisky” in 1933, a 35kV line was built from the NovorRES power station. NovorRES provided electricity to the cement industry, the city elevator, refrigeration plant, the railway station, and the seaport, as well as Anapa and Krymskiy districts. During the Great Patriotic War the substation was destroyed, in 1945 it was restored and put into operation again.
