At the Russian Investments Forum, 27-28 February 2017, in Sochi Veniamin Kondratev, governor of Krasnodar region, and Alexander Gavrilov, director general of Kubanenergo PJSC, signed an agreement on cooperation in energy infrastructure development on the Taman peninsula. The parties plan to invest over seven billion rubles in construction of new facilities on Taman peninsula.
Veniamin Kondratev believes this project will make a significant contribution to the issues with power deficit in Temryuk district.
Alexander Gavrilov, Director General of Kubanenergo said: “Kubanenergo ordered construction of energy infrastructure facilities to develop the Taman peninsula and provide electricity supply to seaport “Taman” and to road infrastructure facilities near the Kerch Strait.”
An affiliate of Rosseti, Kubanenergo will construct a new 220kV substation “Port” with 432MVA capacity by 2019, and thus provide technical feasibility for connection of new facilities of the seaport. The project also includes installation of 170 km of overhead power lines of 35-110-220KV.
Considering the strategic importance of the project, Kubanenergo will install state-of-the-art equipment on substation “Port”, overhead lines will be protected from ice accretion. Substation “Port” is going to be of indoor type with distribution devices with SF6 insulation. Such substations are more reliable, have long lifetime, and are protected from ice accretion and winter loads. These are important factors for the hard climatic conditions of the Taman Peninsula.
For installation of 110 and 220kV power lines the Company will use steel poles, which have proved their efficiency when Kubanenergo was carrying out a massive reconstruction of grid facilities for preparation to Winter Olympics in Sochi. The lifetime of such poles is at least 50 years.
The Russian Investments is a traditional platform for presenting Russia’s investment and economic potential. The Forum is held with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. This time it has attracted about four thousand people: head of large Russian and foreign companies and government agencies.
