Starting this year, in order to get the power equipment ready for the autumn peak loads, the specialists from South-Western electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo PJSC (Rosseti group), have carried out thermovision inspection of 21 high-voltage power lines of total length of 410 kilometres at the coastal district of the region.

These power lines provide electricity for over 300 thousand homes, about 350 facilities of social importance and 4 large recreation centres in Anapa, Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk and Krymsk districts.

– Thermovision inspection is a modern type of diagnostics allowing to detect on an early stage a fault related to excessive heating of contact joints. Grigiriy Chitaya, head of 35kV service unit, said: “It is planned to inspect 150 kilometres of power lines by the middle of July.”

Thermovision methods of inspection and diagnostics enable to obtain more accurate information on condition of each facility, reduce the amount repair work, enhance safety of power equipment operation and provide reliability in power supply.
