In accordance with the programme aimed at improving reliable power supply to consumers in Novorossiysk and development of networks in south-western power district in 2016, the specialists of Kubanenergo PJSC  (Rosseti group) will conduct a major reconstruction of the equipment at 110 kV substation “NovoRES” that provides electricity to Novoroscement, commercial sea port of Novorossiysk, cargo terminal and Novorossiysk shipyard.

During the modernization of the substation, power engineers will construct a new building control for dispatch center and install new closed switchgear with vacuum circuit breakers. They will also install equipment, which will enable connection of new consumers.

Both homes and businesses, among which there are large and important for the town plants, will greatly benefit from implementation of this project. Reliable power supply is especially important during periods of peak demand.

The substation was commissioned under the GOELRO plan (State Plan for the Electrification of Russia) in 1933. During the Great Patriotic War it was completely destroyed, and then in 1945 it was restored and put into operation. Today the substation plays a significant role in power supply of Novorossiysk and its suburbs; it provides electricity for about four thousand households, more than 10 socially important facilities and five major companies of the town.
