At International investments forum “Sochi 2015” Alexandr Gavrilov, director general of Kubanenergo, and Vladimir Evlanov, mayor of Krasnodar, agreed on substations contraction project.
Kubanenergo (Rosseti group) plans to construct two 110kV substations “Most” and “Angarskaya” which should meet the growing demands of town infrastructure in electricity.
Apart from that, thus project also includes installation of 110kV cable lines. These, in comparison to overhead lines, have some advantages; first of all cable lines are more reliable, eco-friendly and have greater transfer capacity. Cable lines are fully secured from unfavourable weather, like, thunder, ice, strong wind. Another positive is that they are inaccessible to third parties. The cable lines were widely used for constitution of network facilities in Sochi during preparation to Olympic Games 2014..
Alexandr Gavrilov, director general of Kubanenergo PJSC said: “Both Krasnodar and the region experience an increase in energy consumption due to industrial-production growth and housing development, as well as construction of commercial, financial and business buildings. “Kubanenergo will strive to provide uninterrupted power supply to new customers and upgrade infrastructure of Krasnodar.”
Construction of these two substations is a part of a large project on upgrading and development of Kuban power utilities in 2015-2019. Currently, the company implements preparatory works.
Vladimir Evlanov said: “Development of utility infrastructure is of great importance for Krasnodar. Развитие инженерной инфраструктуры – одна из важнейших задач, которые стоят сегодня перед Краснодаром. And still we face the problem power supply in central parts of the town and in industrial areas. Our long partnership with Kubanenergo makes it possible to continually improve quality of power supply in various parts of the town. We hope that with this investment agreement we’ll manage to create better conditions for electricity supply in central and north-eastern part of the town and blackouts that occasionally happen here will become history.”
Krasnodar and its suburbs have 40 substations of 35 and 110kV that are operated and maintained by Kubanenergo. The total capacity of these substations amounts of 2 500 megavolt ampere. The length of the main power line is 125 kilometres. Maintenance and operation of the main power line is in responsibility of Krasnodar electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo PJSC.
