Kubanenergo develops communication and telecontrol systems in Sochi power district

In 2014 engineers of Sochi branch of Kubanenergo JSC completed works on modernization of telecontrol systems at six substations of 110kV and 23 power distribution stations. Additionally they installed around 180km of fiber-optic communication lines.

Smooth development of computerized process control system is carried out in accordance with Company’s strategy in the sphere of IT and long-term investment programme.

- Kubanenergo JSC is modern utility company and efficiency of its activity is inextricably linked with development of computerized process control system, which controls processes of transfer and distribution of electric energy. The Company is focused on this sphere, noted Edgar Armaganyan, first deputy director general, head of Sochi electric networks, branch of Kubanenergo JSC.

Over the year remote control systems were installed at 110kV “Sochi” substation, at five other substations (“Matsesta”, “Volokonka”, “Tuapse”, “Golovinka”, “Pasechnaya”) our engineers repacked outdated equipment with modern one of Russian production “KOMPAS TM 2.0”.

Corporate network of Kubanenergo is being modernized and transited to digital data channels. For the moment corporate data network, dispatch and technological communication channels were tuned in Adlerskiy, Dagomysskiy and Krasnopoluanskiy distribution zones.

In total 22 out of 28 substations of 110kV and the major part of distribution stations have computerized process control system.

Remote control engineering, arrangement of communication channels and data transfer helps the specialists of control centres to carry out constant monitoring and control of grid facilities on-line and remotely.
