Kubanenergo commissioned new substation “Tuapse-Terminal”

Kubanenergo JSC (Rosseti JSC group of companies) has just put a new substation 110 kV “Tuapse-Terminal” into service, the total capacity of the substation is 80 MVA. It will provide electricity to almost half of citizens of Tuapse as well as oil refinery located nearby.

“Construction of new substation was one of the key projects of programme on modernization of energy system in Tuapse district. Commissioning of “Tuapse-Termnal” should redistribute the load and make power supply to homes and businesses more reliable and it should also stimulate the development of resort sphere in the Black sea coast”, said Alexandr Gavrilov, director general of Kubanenergo JSC.

“Tuapse-Termnal” substation is equipped with modern hi-tech equipment that meets the worldwide standards. In particular two transformers of 40MVA each were installed on this substation as well as ecofriendly and safe SF6 circuit breakers. All lines are protected from overload and short circuit. The substation can be remotely controlled as it is equipped with supervisory control and communication devices, replay protection and automation devices.

The Investment Programme of Kubanenergo presupposes a large scale modernization of Tuapse district. As of today our engineers are working in two 110 KV substations “Nebug” and “Olginka”, they are in the final phase now, upon completion the capacity of these two substations will increase four times. After it the Company starts modernization of distribution network, lines and substations of 6-10 kV.
